The Story of Tribe Fortune - How Three Paths Became One
It all began with a question.
But before that, there was Kirsten Scott.
In September 2024, Kirsten felt a pull she couldn’t ignore. After years of navigating trauma, grief, and self-doubt, she wanted something more than surface-level wellness. Not another app, not a scented candle, but a way to genuinely reset, heal, and feel whole again.
When she couldn’t find it in Dumfries and Galloway, she decided to create it. Tribe Fortune was born from that spark.
The Meeting of Minds
A few months later, over coffee at a local networking event, Kirsten met executive coach and business psychologist Sophia Nicholls. Two women, one conversation, and the same sense that wellbeing here could be done differently.
Both had seen enough of generic, tick-box approaches. Both wanted depth. They wanted transformation that lasted.
Meanwhile, Sophia and I were already connected. We had met through High Performing Coach, stayed loosely in touch, and kept finding reasons to cross paths. Looking back, it feels like we were following breadcrumbs.
The £100,000 Question
When Sophia moved back home to Dumfries and Galloway, and I was nearby in the Borders, coffee felt inevitable.
Our early chats were friendly, swapping strategies, coaching tools, and ideas. Then, on our third meet-up, Sophia sent a message. Just seven words:
“What would you do with £100 grand?”
I did not know she had asked Kirsten the same thing. I did not know we would all give the same answer.
World-class, personalised wellbeing retreats.
That was the moment it clicked. Not chance, but alignment.
Greater Than the Sum of Our Parts
We quickly realised how our strengths complemented each other.
Kirsten: the creative founder, bringing vision, lived experience, and the ability to connect the right practitioners and therapies into something whole.
Sophia: the business psychologist and executive coach, bringing behavioural science and years of experience helping leaders perform without burning out.
Me: a peak performance coach, working with entrepreneurs and professionals to create meaningful change in their lives.
On our own, we had power. Together, it felt world-class.
We did not want to offer “nice” wellbeing. We wanted experiences that made people feel truly seen and supported, that combined human warmth with science-backed tools, and that brought transformational practices normally reserved for boardrooms into everyday life, rooted here in the South of Scotland.
Why It Matters
Because all three of us have been there.
Stuck. Exhausted. Off track.
Knowing what to do but not doing it.
Promising ourselves we would get back on track tomorrow, and not.
We have lived that cycle. We know how heavy it feels. And we also know what it takes to step out of it.
When one person changes, the ripple spreads to families, workplaces, and communities. That is why Tribe Fortune matters.
The Twist
We came together to build a business that would help people reset, reconnect, and step into their own potential.
And along the way, that is what happened to us.
It feels as though Tribe Fortune was waiting for us. Waiting for us to say yes.
The Vision
In the next three to five years, we want Tribe Fortune to be the go-to name for transformation in the South of Scotland. To make Dumfries and Galloway a destination for retreats and resets. To serve businesses who want sustainable performance, and people who are ready to stop running on empty and start living fully.
We want to build a community that lasts, where the change does not stop when the retreat ends, but carries on in daily life.
This is just the beginning.
