Short breaks. Intimate groups. Designed around you

Our short breaks are the deeper version of what Tribe Fortune offers. Two or three nights, a maximum of twelve people, and an experience built entirely around the specific group attending. Mid-week and weekend retreats available.

Bespoke retreats, tailored for you.

Before any short break runs, Kirsten speaks with you individually to understand what the group needs. What are people carrying? What do they need more of? What might need to shift? That conversation shapes everything: the practitioners we bring in, the activities we build, the rhythm of the days.

You will be staying somewhere genuinely beautiful in Dumfries and Galloway. We work with properties that have space, character and quiet. Exceptional food is part of the experience, always.

Across two or three days you might move through: yoga, walking, wild swimming or outdoor practice. Somatic work, breathwork or meditation with practitioners who have spent years in their craft. Creative sessions. Time around a fire. Meals that feel like an event in themselves. Honest conversation with women you may not have met before but will leave knowing.

Come as you are. Leave knowing yourself a little better.

A deliberately simple shape.

Every short break is built around the specific group attending. The rhythm varies, but you can expect three things, always.

Your body, properly tended.

Movement that suits where you are. Yoga, walking, wild swimming, breathwork, or something else, depending on what the group needs. Time outdoors in some of the most beautiful landscape in Scotland. Not a fitness programme. Just the reminder that your body feels entirely different when you actually pay attention to it.

Practice with people worth trusting.

Every practitioner we bring in has been chosen because we know their work and believe in it. Sessions vary by group and theme. A conversation about hormones and the changing body, a guided meditation, a deep dive into nutrition, a creative session, a wild sauna at the edge of the water. The kind of access that is usually expensive, hard to find, or buried inside a course you did not need.

Rest that is actually restful.

Exceptional food. Unhurried mornings. Time around a fire. Space to do nothing, or everything, or somewhere in between. We do not fill every hour. The unscheduled time is part of the point. Most women who come say they did not realise how much they needed it until they were in it.

Chosen carefully. Always beautiful

We hold short breaks in hand-picked locations across Dumfries and Galloway. Every venue is chosen with the same criteria: somewhere genuinely beautiful, somewhere that feels removed from ordinary life, and somewhere the space itself becomes part of the experience.

Dabton House, Thornhill

Dabton House is a Georgian country house set within the Queensberry Estate in Dumfriesshire. Eleven exquisitely appointed en suite bedrooms, several reception rooms in which to gather and dine, walled gardens and grounds, and a level of hospitality that makes every meal feel like an occasion.

It has the rare quality of feeling both genuinely grand and genuinely comfortable. The kind of house where you arrive as a group of near-strangers and leave as something else entirely. The grounds, the reception rooms and the unhurried quality of the place conspire, within a day, to make it feel like somewhere that belongs to you.

Laggan, Gatehouse of Fleet

Laggan sits on the Solway Coast at Gatehouse of Fleet, and it has the quality of somewhere that has been quietly and carefully built over time by people who genuinely care about it. Seaview accommodation with hot tubs, a glass-fronted bistro that has made The Guardian and The Times, event spaces set within a working farm, and the particular quality of light that the Solway does at the end of the day.

We use Laggan for retreats where the setting itself is part of the experience. The sea views, the farm backdrop, the unhurried pace of the place. It invites a kind of stillness that is very hard to manufacture anywhere else.

An indoor event space with wooden beams, chandeliers, and a ceiling decorated with string lights. There is a stone fireplace with a mounted deer head and a projection screen on the wall. Rows of white chairs are arranged facing the front, with additional seating areas visible.

Curated with care

We also work with other hand-picked locations across Dumfries and Galloway depending on the theme and the group. Every venue we use meets the same standard: exceptional in its own way, and never generic.

The place matters.

Your investment.

Members: £650 to £850 for two to three nights, depending on the venue and experience.
Non-members: £850 to £1,050.

Everything is included. Accommodation, all meals and every practitioner session, with Kirsten present and hosting throughout. What you are investing in is not a list of services. It is two or three days of being genuinely looked after, in a place that earns its place in the experience, with women who will matter to you long after you leave.

Residential retreats run when we have a confirmed group of between eight and twelve guests. The first step is registering your interest. Kirsten will arrange a short call to understand what would be most useful for your group and to talk through the options.

We also offer entirely private short breaks for pre-existing groups. If you have a group of friends, colleagues or community members who would like a bespoke experience, get in touch.
