The dark half of the year has properly arrived by late November, and our ancestors knew exactly what to do with it: slow down, gather in, light a candle and rest. So that's what we're doing!
Sunday 28 November 2027, 10am to 3pm, at the former Baptist Church, 24 Newall Terrace, Dumfries. A small group of no more than 16 women.
We start at 10am with an hour of gentle movement and a little meditation, nothing fancy and nothing you need experience for, just a chance to arrive in your body. Then we sit down to brunch together, a seasonal homemade one that I make myself, often with things I've grown or foraged. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten free and dairy free are all catered for, just tell us when you book.
After brunch there's a talk on rest, sleep and looking after ourselves through the winter months, with a little journaling and time for your questions. Then a cup of tea, and we finish with candle making or a sound bath, something to carry the light with you into December.
We'll share who's leading each session very soon. If you've never been to anything like this before, you'll be very welcome. You'll be looked after from the moment you walk in, and whether you leave with a new friend or simply a few hours of peace, either is perfect.
Book by Saturday 30 October for the early booking price of £60. Gift vouchers can be used at checkout.
Would you like to give another woman a place too? Save Her a Seat funds places for women who couldn't otherwise come, and you can chip in from £10.
