As the year closes and December gathers pace, many people notice the same thing.
Tiredness builds. Sleep feels lighter. Shoulders creep up towards ears. The nervous system starts working far harder than it looks from the outside.

Seasonal Stillness is a gentle half day retreat designed to help you pause and reset before Christmas takes over. It offers a warm, supportive space to move, breathe and rest in a way that calms your system rather than draining it further.

You will leave feeling clearer, steadier and more grounded for the festive weeks ahead.

Morning session with Moira Forsyth

Yoga and Ayurveda Practitioner

Winter invites us to slow down and support the body more intentionally. In this morning session, Moira will guide you through gentle yoga and Ayurvedic inspired practices to help you:

  • Build internal warmth and support your natural digestive fire, known as agni

  • Release areas that tend to contract in colder weather

  • Balance energy so you feel both awake and at ease

You will explore simple breath practices such as alternate nostril breathing, alongside slow, purposeful movement to ease tension. The focus is on warmth, steadiness and listening to what your body actually needs at this time of year.

Afternoon session with Hanna Casement

Yoga and Sound Practitioner

In the afternoon, after a nourishing and wholesome brunch from Pan’s Café (included) Hanna will lead a soothing blend of breath, seated movement, mudras, pranayama and sound to help your nervous system unwind after a busy year.

You will experience Nada Yoga, the practice of sound, using the voice and the warm drone of the Indian Shruti box. You are welcome to join in or simply listen. Together you will explore gentle tones, simple patterns and periods of quiet.

This outer sound then leads into a more internal focus, closing with a deep relaxation so your body and mind have time to absorb the work. Most people leave feeling lighter, clearer and deeply rested.

What to bring:

  • Comfortable clothing you can move and relax in

  • A warm layer, blanket and socks

  • Your own yoga mat and pillow if you prefer, although mats and props can be provided
